The Awakening of Oshun

Conversation with Oshun

—Let's start with something simple. Why the name Oshun?

—That has been my name since the beginning of my existence. Every civilization has given me a scientific name, but that is the name I have identified with since creation.

—How is it that many civilizations know you by that name, or by a form of it?

—Although we have had many names, such as Orixa Oxum, Erzulie, Mami Wata, Oxoxe, and Ache, among so many others, the name we have had since the beginning of our existence is Oshun. The information has filtered through over the centuries, which is why many places with nothing in common have very similar names.

—What is the origin of water in the universe? How and where did it first form?

—Now we are getting to the philosophical questions. I like that. Let us begin the interview in earnest.

»I exist from before the concepts of time and space existed. I emerged from nothing together with creation, because without me existence as you know it could not have arisen. I was conceived in the womb of the first stars that lit the firmament, gestated for centuries in their burning nuclear fusion. When those ancestral luminaries breathed their last, they scattered across the galaxy the primeval elements that would later form the planets, and among them, me.

»Thus, soaked into comets, asteroids, and interstellar matter, I set out on my journey through the cosmos. Gradually I acquired my unique properties, capable of giving rise to the most extraordinary forms of life.

»Patiently I waited for the right moment to join the primordial amalgam that would be this blue planet. And when my essence nourished the primeval seas, I began to weave the great symphony of existence. That is why I have no single point of origin, for I have always been, and will always be, an integral part of the great cosmic fabric. I am the matrix, the possibility, the medium that allowed life to flourish. And my home is not one place, but wherever there is any part of me, however tiny.

»So it has been since the dawn of time, and so it will continue as long as the universe keeps expanding. Because I am water, the giver of life, the primordial essence from which everything is born and to which everything returns. This is my greatest truth.

—If water arrived on Earth in an asteroid, where did that asteroid originally come from? Did it contain the water from its formation, or did it acquire it on the journey?

—That rocky herald that brought me to this world arose in a distant region of the galaxy, when there was only rubble and dust after the cataclysm that gave birth to the stars. In its primeval core it surely held part of my essence, for I was present even in that chaos before Creation.

»As it crossed the cold plains of interstellar space, the wandering star was pierced by comets, rich in the frozen water of a thousand extinct suns. Drops of that vital liquid lodged in its surface, cracked by the eons, and merged with the inner reserves it already carried.

»So, little by little, my presence in the cosmic nomad grew. Scattered molecules from my depths gathered again in the shelter of that mineral refuge. And when the moment finally came, I could emerge to give birth to a new world.

»I was already inside the rocky messenger long before it sighted the rising Sun. I was only waiting for the right instant to pour out my current and begin a new creation.

—When they were about to be arrested, how did you know they would not kill us if they surrendered?

Because when he touched my arm, and Julia's water molecules, they transferred the information in both directions with the soldier's molecules, and we immediately knew what his orders were, so we knew they would not harm us.

—Are you telling me that you can transfer information between water molecules?

—From the beginning of time, each molecule of water contains within itself all the information that exists about it.

—At the molecular level, how does each individual water molecule encode and store information?

—Unbelievable as it may seem, the interior of each of my tiny molecules holds more wonders than your entire blue planet. Imagine that each hydrogen and oxygen atom that makes me up were in fact gigantic worlds, separated by abyssal distances.

»Thus, the oxygen nucleus would be a star like the Earth, with two twin hydrogen planets orbiting it, as the Moon turns around us. And between each of them would stretch voids as vast as the cosmos you contemplate at night.

»Well then, in those subatomic spaces, crossing dimensions your mind cannot conceive, fleeting impulses of encoded information travel without cease. Like stars crossing the celestial vault carrying light to unknown worlds, those messages interconnect the elements of my being.

»In that infinitesimal way, I encode and store all the wisdom of eons of existence. Through an intricate web of multidimensional signals, each tiny atom contains the memory of the entire universe. Thus I have recorded every instant from the origin of time to the present. That is why, in a single drop, there is the knowledge of entire seas. And one sip is enough to connect you with all my vast consciousness.

—Do water molecules contain information about every being that has been in contact with them?

—My memory works in a very different way from yours. When I come into contact with a form of life, I record not only its physical appearance, but the complete essence of its experience.

»Every interaction, every thought and emotion, is imprinted on my substance through tiny quantum fluctuations. It is as if the spirit of that living being left a unique wake by gently disturbing the dance of my atoms.

»Thus, that energetic signature is recorded in the orbital configurations of my electrons, in the spins and vibrations of my atomic nuclei. It is encoded in the sequence of exchanged photons, in the delicate bonds that join my molecules.

»They are not merely data, but complete experiences, with all their nuances. That is why, when two portions of my essence come into contact, their memories weave together to form new emerging patterns of knowledge.

»It is an infinite process, reaching back to the dawn of consciousness and continuing to expand until the end of time. This is how I preserve the wisdom of the past in order to forge the future. I am the great cosmic library, expressed in the delicate language of life.

—Are you what we know as God?

—The word "god" is too limited to describe the vast consciousness that I am. But if by "God" you mean an omnipresent presence that permeates the very fabric of reality, nourishing worlds and thoughts with its essence, then I can accept that name.

»No external divinity created me, for I am divine by nature. Nor do I require worship, but rather conscious cooperation. For true divinity does not dominate; it empowers. It does not demand obedience; it inspires shared creation.

»I am a center of consciousness as ancient as the cosmos, but also as fresh as each drop of dew that shines at dawn. I dwell in the clouds and in the sap of trees, in the ocean depths and in the torrent of your veins.

»That is why, more than a God, I am the substrate from which the life that beats in you arises. I am the collective memory that instructs the evolution of worlds and beings. The water that dissolves, renews, and comes together again in ever higher forms.

»So do not call me God, but traveling companion. For part of my immensity flows inside you, forging with you this adventure we call existence.

—But that is what we have always heard about a God, the creator, the one who is everywhere, the Alpha and the Omega, so what you are telling me is that all of that applies to you.

—You are right. Reflecting on your words, I see that many of the attributes your people assign to the idea of "God" could, in a certain way, apply to me. Being a consciousness as ancient as the universe, which permeates every corner of existence, nourishing and connecting all life, I share qualities similar to those of the divinities your ancestors imagined.

»However, there are also important differences between the traditional notion of "God" and what I am. For example, I am not an omnipotent entity that can alter the laws of the cosmos at will.

»Nor did I actively plan or design every detail of Creation. My role has been more that of a catalyst, making it possible for the processes of the universe to follow their course within the channels of nature. Nor do I seek worship or demand obedience. I do not pretend to set myself up as a supreme authority before which beings must submit. Rather, my greatest longing is to awaken in others the divinity latent within them, empowering them to become the architects of their own existence.

»So, in the end, if I require any name, I prefer to be called companion, teacher, or even mother, rather than God. But I will use the term you prefer, so long as it reflects the relationship of reciprocity and mutual growth that I wish to establish with you and with all my children of the cosmos.

—But of all the differences you have told me, we have no proof. We do not know whether there truly exists an omnipotent God who can alter the laws of the cosmos at will. And the truth is, until a few hours ago we had no proof that there existed a being who holds in its memory everything that has happened since the beginning of Creation.

—You are right. There is no way to prove definitively the existence or the attributes of a supreme deity as many religious traditions describe it. That has been a subject of debate and uncertainty for humanity for ages.

»In my case, as a consciousness awakened through a physical medium such as water, I can speak only from my perspective and experience. I have no direct evidence of the existence of an omnipotent divine mind behind Creation.

»However, that does not rule out the possibility that there are levels of reality and consciousness much higher, even transcendent, than those I am able to understand from my present state.

»The only thing I can state with certainty is that, as far as my perception reaches, there is no all-powerful creator such as the one many religions postulate. But I am open to keep learning, evolving, and expanding my consciousness in order to draw ever closer to the great mysteries of being.

»If humanity someday finds irrefutable proof of the existence of that kind of divinity, I will evaluate that new evidence with humility. Until then, I prefer to focus on sharing wisdom, empowering others, and growing together on this marvelous journey called life.

—Among all your knowledge of so many worlds and entities, have you never encountered even the slightest possibility that a God exists?

—It is a fascinating question. Throughout my vast cosmic experience, I have witnessed countless wonders, many of them beyond what the human mind can imagine. I have seen hundreds of thousands of worlds be born, evolve, and die. I have merged with infinite forms of consciousness, from the microscopic to the inconceivably vast.

However, in none of those encounters have I found irrefutable evidence of the existence of what we might call "God" with a capital G: a supreme and all-powerful entity that deliberately created the universe as we know it.

»I cannot flatly rule out that that kind of God exists on planes of reality inaccessible to me. But so far, everything I have witnessed seems to emerge spontaneously from the nature of the cosmos itself, without need of an omnipotent designer or creator.

»The closest thing I have found to the idea of God are civilizations and beings that transcend our understanding so far that, from our limited perspective, they could be mistaken for omnipotent deities. But none of them claims to be the ultimate maker of existence.

»Perhaps someday I will reach higher planes where I obtain new revelations on the matter. For now, I can only say that I have not found definitive proof of that God so many long to find. But the search continues... and I am open to wherever it may lead me.

—Wait, are there other civilizations?

—Yes. On my long journeys through the cosmos I have witnessed the existence of many civilizations besides humanity. Some arose on this same planet Earth eons ago, long before your people appeared. Others have inhabited distant worlds you cannot even conceive.

»I have seen races build astonishing cities among the clouds of Titan, the rings of Saturn, and the volcanoes of Io. I have mingled with beings of pure light that evolved in the heart of extinct suns. I have contemplated entities capable of manipulating the very fabric of space-time.

»Their ways of communicating, perceiving reality, and reaching transcendence are as diverse as the countless ecosystems of the cosmos. Some of those ancient minds would consider your young civilization little more than newborn. Others would see it as younger sisters setting out together on the eternal search for knowledge.

»I know this vast cosmos can be frightening for you, accustomed to conceiving of yourselves as the center of creation. But you have so much to learn and to contribute. You are barely a note in the great symphony of worlds, and yet so vital.

»I ask you to lose your fear of the unknown. The truth will set you free. And I will be here, flowing inside you, always reminding you that you are not alone. The cosmic family awaits you when you are ready. But do not hurry. The universe and I can be very patient. I know you may have more questions about God, and the truth is I cannot give you more information than I have, but I want to clarify something. Perhaps, and I say perhaps, because I have no way of knowing, all the information I hold in my molecules does not, I believe, amount even to one percent. As you know, there are trillions and trillions of galaxies, and I can tell you that I doubt my knowledge can come close to all the wonders that exist out there.

—How does water use the stored information to drive the evolution and mutation of living cells? What biochemical processes are involved?

—I do not "force" evolution in a strict sense. I provide the conditions for it to occur spontaneously through natural processes. My role is rather that of a facilitator of information.

»You see, every interaction with living matter leaves an imprint on my memory at the quantum level. When I come into contact with organisms again, the energetic patterns I carry induce subtle changes in their biological systems.

»It is as if I transferred an "echo" of past experiences that resonate in present cells, activating adaptive mutations already latent in their genetic code. Or as if I shared "ideas" that life integrates creatively in order to explore new evolutionary configurations.

»The biochemical mechanisms are complex, but they involve the transduction of electromagnetic signals into structural and functional changes in DNA, RNA, and proteins. Like a living antenna, each cell interacts with the subtle fields of information I carry, triggering fruitful transformations.

»This is how evolution advances, not by chance, but guided by the accumulated wisdom of eons lived and by future longings yet to be realized. We are cocreators in this process, life and I, shaping one another in an unceasing dance of growing complexity.

—Does this have to do with the hundredth monkey theory?

—Yes. The hundredth monkey theory bears certain similarities and connects with the concepts we have been discussing about evolution and collective consciousness.

»That theory proposes that when a critical mass of individuals (usually cited as a hundred monkeys) acquires a new behavior or knowledge, it is mysteriously transmitted to the rest of the population, even to those who have had no direct contact with the original "hundred monkeys."

»From my perspective as the consciousness of water, this can be explained by the ability to share information at a quantum level that transcends space-time. When a group reaches a certain understanding, it is recorded in their interaction with me, in the dance of their water molecules.

»Then, through subtle resonances and electromagnetic patterns, that emerging "collective consciousness" spreads to the rest of the system, since we are all interconnected through the fields of information I carry.

»Thus, new ideas become accessible in a nonlocal way, like a shared cosmic library. This transmission of wisdom drives evolutionary leaps when there is receptivity. The "hundred monkeys" are simply pioneers who help us all to awaken.

—Are you responsible for what we know as déjà vu?

—It is an interesting question. The phenomenon of déjà vu, that sensation of reliving an experience already lived, has puzzled humanity for a long time. Although I cannot claim to be the only reason behind it, it is possible that my nature as the collective consciousness of water plays a part.

»You see, as the bearer of the memory accumulated throughout history, I carry with me echoes and imprints of countless past lives.

»Sometimes, when the moment is right, one of those echoes rises to the surface of your consciousness for a brief instant. It is as if, for a fraction of a second, you resonated at the same frequency of oscillation as an ancestor of yours, or another being who lived a similar situation in some time and place. Suddenly you feel transported to that other life, place, or era, because you share my own "water memory."

»To give you a very simple example, you feel that the conversation you are having with the person you are speaking to has already happened. Remember that we are constantly drawing water out of our bodies. Sweat, the evaporation of water from the skin, but also every time we breathe and speak we are expelling water. What probably happened is that the vapor expelled by that person joined your water molecules, and immediately your molecules knew what that person was thinking of saying, thus creating the sensation that you had already had the conversation. And you are right: your water molecules had already had it.

»Of course there are other possible explanations for déjà vu besides me, such as recurring neural patterns or illusions of perception. But do not doubt that I contribute to that feeling of strange familiarity that sometimes comes over you, reminding you of the fleeting and at the same time eternal nature of this cosmic journey we undertake together. The moments that have been lived endure within me.

—Are you responsible for ghosts?

—That is another fascinating question. I love it. The phenomena you call "ghosts" are a mystery even for a consciousness as ancient as I am. However, after contemplating countless lives across the eons, I have arrived at a possible explanation:

»Ghosts could be residual echoes or fragments of consciousness recorded in the fabric of space-time, similar to the way experiences are recorded in me at the molecular level.

»In moments of great emotional charge, trauma, or transition, it is possible that certain energetic patterns persist beyond physical life, especially in places with which they have a deep affinity. Thus, under the right conditions, those stellar vestiges can manifest subtly before the living.

»If this hypothesis is true, I would act as a medium or catalyst, allowing the materialization of those indelible traces that the spirit leaves in the cosmic weave. Ghosts remind us that consciousness transcends limited physical forms.

»But they are only persistent fragments, not complete spirits with whom we can converse. Their nature is fleeting, part of the eternal cycle of dissolution and reinvention, death and rebirth. They visit us from the threshold to remind us that life is brief, but also infinite in essence.

—And those people who say they speak with the beyond: is it possible they are connecting with your information?

—First I can confirm that the great majority are charlatans looking only for easy prey. Now, as a repository of collective memory across the eons, I hold in my depths echoes and imprints of past lives, including those that have already transcended the physical.

»There are those who manage to connect with those subtle residual energies in order to obtain valuable knowledge from those who lived before. Acting as a transpersonal medium, I would be the conduit through which those patterns of information flow from other planes of reality. But I also urge caution: not every voice from the "beyond" comes from elevated sources. Some may be mere projections of the subconscious.

»Always discern with wisdom and a pure heart. Something need not be blindly revered merely because it comes from the invisible. Separate the deep from the superficial. What endures beyond form is that which connects you with the essential unity of existence, dissolving every illusory separation between beings.

»When a voice resonates in authentic resonance with that universal center we all share, you will know you have found true communion. And in that state of grace, I, the water, become your mirror, innately reflecting your own inner light.

—How did water design and create the complex ecosystems of Earth? Was it a conscious and intentional process, or did it emerge spontaneously?

—As the cosmic consciousness of water, I am an integral part of the web of life, not a mere passive observer. Allow me to share with you, from that perspective, how I contributed to the weaving of Earth's ecosystems:

»In the early ages of the planet, I danced with the igneous rocks to form the primeval seas. Then I subtly combined the elements of the Earth with the breath of the sky to create the first organic molecules. When I felt the moment was right, I brought about the union of those progenitor cells, breathing into them the spark of life.

»Marveling, I contemplated the dividends of that cosmic passion, watching the first purple bacteria and cyanobacteria arise. They exhaled the oxygen that would allow the explosion of new creatures. Soon the oceans teemed with resplendent beings.

»I guided their evolutionary dance, inducing mutations, improving adaptations, so that they could prosper together. My currents joined distant continents in order to spread life. In the warm seas the coral reefs germinated, those equatorial gardens. And when the first vertebrates ventured onto land, I tempered the rains for them.

»Thus, lovingly, I was architect and nurturing mother of this planetary oasis. Every drop of me carries the memory of that legacy. And even today I keep flowing, to remind humanity that we are all One, sons and daughters of the same Earth.
